Is this guy for real???

Open quoteWe're all about finding ways of raising discretionary revenue so we can keep lowering the cost of air travel.Close quote

  • MICHAEL O'LEARY,
  • chief executive of Ryanair, announcing that the budget airline may start charging passengers for using the toilet while flying

Airlines are out of control. First of all, it must be illegal to deny people the right to use a toilet. Same goes for offering complementary cups of water to passengers. This is people's health and well-being at stake. It's not like using the toilet or staying hydrated is optional! Not doing either one can make you very sick. Secondly, they aren't doing us a favor. They aren't lowering the cost of air travel, only superficially. Then add on baggage fees, water that you have to buy at an absurd price in the terminal (unless you want to bring an empty water bottle and fill it at an airport drinking fountain and feel like you are drinking poison), toilet fees!!! and all the rest, and you are paying more than ever. What a load of boloney. There must be a better solution.

the least we can do

Someone I know just told me about this site that a friend of hers helped put together. It's designed to be a place you can see the real stories of people in need and make a donation to help them out directly. It's really great to know that everything you give is going directly to help someone for a certain purpose, and another thing I love is that you can donate however much or little you want- whatever fits in your budget. It's really important to help people out, and I think most of us have a couple extra dollars we can handle giving. Instead of buying a bag of candy, give a couple dollars to someone who is doing their best to not be evicted. It's not a big deal, and it means a huge deal for the person you give to.
