lightning crashes

In spite of my social mem day weekend, I haven't been feeling very well. My stomach has been all cramped up and queasy, and I don't know why or what to do about it. So I was happy to enjoy that lobster roll so much! I didn't eat very much the rest of the weekend, at least not by my normal standards. I didn't sleep well last night. I woke up in the middle of the night and heard the rain start softly. I couldn't sleep, and I flopped around restlessly in my bed. I heard distant thunder and when I opened my eyes I saw flashes of lightning. I listened to the rain get harder and more violent and the thunder getting louder until there was no lag between the flashes and the crashes. I could see the flashes through my eyelids. We got up and made sure our windows were shut, and the flash-boom crashing thunder that seems to come from inside you reminded me of my first summer in Boston when I experienced the storm right over you- no waiting for the thunder to roll, it's already rolling before the flash stops. It's very exciting and awe-inspiring. Makes you feel small under the incredible power of the earth. This morning it's cloudy so it's hard to tell if there's still any smoke in the air, but the world doesn't smell like ashes this morning, so maybe that wind did change and blow it out to sea.

I enjoyed the thunder and lightening. I've always loved stormtrooper weather
