I convinced my roommate to wake up wicked early and go running with me this morning. It's always more motivating if you know someone else is going to suffer along with you. There was a low, mysterious mist in the city today, and with the scent of fall and the half-light of dawn it was actually kind of enchanting. Or perhaps my brain was still fuzzy and I was still in dreamland...
We have an awesome view of the city out our living room windows, but it's crazy to look out on a day like today and see vast whiteness although I know the city is hiding in there somewhere. It completely changes the feel (to look out and see a bunch of white and a few close buildings rather than all the different buildings of the city piled on one another).
Walking to work, a gorilla on a bike passed me and waved. I waved back.
On Tuesday afternoon as I walked home from work, a man passed and without slowing down or staring or showing any emotion came a rapid-fire mumble of "what do I have to do to get to know you". It was actually really funny to me, and my roommate got a kick out of it too. I don't usually get comments like that so it was rather amusing. Musta been the new hair. ;) I got some deep chocolate lowlights underneath in the back and an accent piece in the front. I vowed off dying my hair, but I wanted some change and something less common and edgy (last time I tried to get some edgy bangs and they just looked cute like I was back in elementary school), so I figured this would give me what I want without being too difficult to get rid of when I am done with it. I like it.
